Antiguo Autómata Mexicano (AAM) is the alter ego of Angel Sanchez, a Monterrey Mexico denizen who has been wrecking havoc in Mexico's underground since the late 80's with Superdrogas and Slow Motion Love. Recently, Angel has devoted time to develop a vocal project called Seekers Who Are Lovers, in which he croons the music of Size, The Velvet Underground, Will Oldham and Bryan Ferry. But it is with AAM that he has had some international success with an album released in Andy Vaz' Background label in Germany, Microhate, in which he deconstructed the basic underlinings of tecno patterns, adorning them with a motorik bitch feeling and a deep understanding of complex rhythms. His album for Static Discos, Kraut Slut, will be available in the fall of 2006.
